Jan 2019 - 4th grade

My Twenty-Four Teachers

Hari Om,
We have continued with our Guru's.

Pigeon

Pigeon was the role model from bird kingdom.
Riddle was given for guessing the bird how they use to be messengers.

Brainstorming :
Duties to be performed without attachment. Otherwise unhappiness is the consequence. If too close or far from the situation, or person clarity cannot be there for finding solutions.
Story : Pigeon Family how attachment resulted in the family getting captured and not being able to find freedom.

Conclusion:
Attachment is not a wise emotion. Detachment and being engaged in a higher cause helps.

Arrowmaker
Riddle - Skillful worker, used in the past by Rama, and Arjuna, and armies to accomplish their goals.
Brainstorming :
Controlling posture, breath, being vigilant, dispassionate, and focused helps in achieving perfect goals.
Tale: King and his retinue unnoticed by the arrowmaker.
Tale: Swami Vivekananda hit eggshells in Chicago.
Tale: Dronacharya testing Kauravas and Pandavas.
Tale: Newton discovering law of gravity.

Conclusion:
Focus on one form, object,or concept for a steady time.Pay attention and be a master.

Krishna Krishna Everywhere

We continue to revel in the Lila's of Lord Krishna

Brahmaji’s Moha Bhanga

·         Brahmaji wanted to test Bhagvan’s divinity – so he hid the calves and the gopas
·         Lord Krishna multiplied Himself and assumed the exact forms of the missing calves and boys.
·         Every Home, every family is Vrindvan was filled with the Highest Love!
·         Brahmaji realized his mistake and sought forgiveness.
·         Lord is the very Self of all beings. When the gopas loved Lord Krishna they were actually expressing love for their own Self – though they did not even know that Lord Krishna is the personification of their very Self!

Krishna – Everyone’s Darling

·         Everyone is irresistibly attracted to Krishna – why ? it is the nature of the human mind to adore beauty in any and every form.
·         Where ever we experience beauty – whether it is a painting through our eyes or music through our ears etc  – we admire the person for their extraordinary expression.
·         Most people are loved and respected all over the world for just one great quality – imagine how much we will love someone who has “all” the great qualities !!
·         Lord Krishna was absolute perfection all around ! This is what endears Him to all.
·         If we also grow our virtues like being dutiful and obedient kids to our parents, cheerful and friendly with friends, respectful and kindhearted to all – we will also be a darling of all!!

Dhenukasura Salvation

·         Asura Dhenuka (a donkey) lived in Tadavana with his ferocious herd of donkes and did not let anyone eat the delicious fruits from the garden.
·         Krishna and Balarama killed the asura and the other donkeys and the garden was free for the romp and play of the gopa boys.

Kaliya Mardanam

·         Lord Krishna danced on the ferocious 100 hooded snake and humbled his ego.
·         River Yamuna is also known as Kalindi – the daughter of the self luminous sun.
·         Kalindi represents our Lord in us, the consciousness in us – self luminous.
·         Kaliya with his 100 hoods represents the multitude of poisonous vices that come to live in our minds.
·         Kaliya is poisonous – he keeps the mind agitated and impure (like the waters of the Lake Madu). Let’s bring Lord Krishna into our hearts and minds – Let Him dance His magical dance on these hoods of vices and stamp them out !
·         Focus on 3 specific vices you want to stamp out.

As we speak and listen to His glory we also enact it in class. Bhagvan’s leela comes alive in class with role play. We also have the ‘Bell message’ (BM) where we pause to discuss and
assimilate values and lessons.

  • Everyone loved Him because He was so pure.
  • A happy person is very generous
